New Twitter feature surfaces retweets with comments, now called ‘Quote Tweets’

Twitter on Monday said it now recognizes retweets with comments attached as “Quote Tweets,” and in a feature addition will allow users to more easily find and view the messages in their timelines.

TwitterAnnounced in a tweet to Twitter’s official support account, “Quote Tweets” enables quick surfacing of response posts by separating the messages from common replies.Prior to the change, Quote Tweets, previously referred to as retweets with comments, were handled like common replies. Without a special designation these retweets were difficult to find, and the lack of search integration was often a roadblock to further engagement.
